Area Open Day Event 15th June 2008

This was our first Area event and what a good one. We had one team consisting of Sue Frank on Spot on V(most know her as Scruffy), Karen Richardson on Highland Brave and Carole Hodgetts on The Maverick. Trish, who owns Highland Brave and I were grooms for the day. I was the last to arrive everyone was already set up, Karen had done her test. Sue and Carole warmed up and did their tests. Then onto the show jumping Karen and Sue had clear rounds Carole had a very unlucky 4 faults. Going into the cross country Karen was 1st in her section, Sue was 2nd in hers and Carole was in the top 1/3 of hers. Karen did really well and went clear, Sue had one stop at the water and Carole had one stop at the double of roll tops. Karen stayed in first place in her section so has qualified for the Championship at Offchurch Bury, Warks in August. Sue and Carole were really happy with the way they went as this was a big step up for both of them.
